Day 1: Zurich → Biel → Bern → Interlaken (210 km)
In the morning, our driver-guide will meet you at the pre-arranged time and location to begin the journey. Biel – a German/French bilingual lakeside city and a key hub of the global watch industry. Swatch Headquarters: Designed by Japanese architect Kengo Kuma; its cocoon/serpent-like exterior is a striking modern landmark. OMEGA Museum: Showcases the brand’s history and watchmaking craftsmanship, Olympic timekeeping, Speedmaster’s moon-landing legacy, and a James Bond (007) zone. Bern – Switzerland’s capital, famed for its UNESCO-listed medieval old town. Old Town: Stroll freely to admire well-preserved medieval buildings, distinctive arcades and fountains. Zytglogge (Clock Tower): Bern’s iconic landmark. This centuries-old clock tower features a charming mechanical show a few minutes before each hour. Landmark fountains: Built in the 16th century to replace earlier wooden ones. Today 11 fountains are key sights, such as the Fountain of Justice, the Archer and Flag Bearer, and the Ogre Fountain. Bern Cathedral: Switzerland’s tallest church, with magnificent Gothic architecture. Its 100-metre tower offers views over the Old Town and the surrounding Alps. Einstein House: During his time in Bern, Einstein completed work that changed the world – the theory of relativity. His former residence is now a museum. Rose Garden: On a hill opposite the Old Town, a beautiful park offering panoramic views of Bern’s old city, the Aare River and the Federal Palace. Bear Park: The bear is Bern’s symbol. This riverside park lets visitors observe brown bears living in a spacious environment. Interlaken – between Lake Thun and Lake Brienz; blessed with spectacular nature and known as an adventure-sports town in Europe.
Day 2: Interlaken → Jungfrau (Top of Europe ) → Leukerbad (100 km)
Jungfraujoch – the ‘Top of Europe’, set amid 4,000m-class peaks and listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site. Eiger Express + mountain railway (optional): Take the tri-cable gondola (~15 min) to Eiger Glacier Station, then connect by cogwheel train (~25 min) to Jungfraujoch. Sphinx Observatory Terrace: Around 3,571m, with 360° views of Jungfrau, Mönch, Eiger and the Aletsch Glacier. Ice Palace: A -3°C ice world carved by artists—ice tunnels and vivid sculptures (e.g., eagle, penguin, bear). Alpine Sensation: A multimedia experience linking the Sphinx Terrace and Ice Palace, celebrating the Jungfrau Railway’s history. Leukerbad – Switzerland’s most famous alpine thermal resort, known since Roman times. Leukerbad Therme: The largest public thermal baths in the Swiss Alps (28–43°C) with indoor/outdoor pools, kids’ area, slides and sauna. Walliser Alpentherme & Spa: One of Europe’s largest wellness complexes, featuring Roman-Irish baths, multiple temperature/humidity zones, steam and thermal facilities.
Day 3: Leukerbad → Saas-Fee → Locarno → Bellinzona (65 km)
Saas-Fee – the ‘Pearl of the Alps’, celebrated for glacier views, a clean car-free environment and year- round activities. Car-free village: Since 1952, fuel cars are banned; transport is mainly by small electric vehicles/horse carriages. In summer, enjoy hiking and possible marmot spotting. Mittelallalin Mountain – experience three “world’s” highlights: World’s highest underground funicular/metro: Built entirely inside a glacier tunnel, taking you from Felskinn station up to 3,462 metres. World’s highest revolving restaurant: A slowly rotating restaurant at the summit offering 360- degree views of 13 peaks over 4,000 metres while you dine. World’s largest ice cave/glacier pavilion: A huge natural ice cavern revealing glacier interiors and featuring exquisite ice sculptures. Locarno – mild climate and Mediterranean charm; host city of the Locarno International Film Festival. Piazza Grande: A lakeside pedestrian square lined with cafés and shops—main venue for film festival and major events. Madonna del Sasso Sanctuary (optional): Take the funicular to Orselina to visit the famous hilltop pilgrimage church.
Day 4: Bellinzona → Schwyz(Stoos) → Lindt Home of Chocolate → Zurich (175 km)
Bellinzona – in the Italian-speaking region, a UNESCO World Heritage site renowned for its castles and southern flair. Castelgrande: The largest and oldest of Bellinzona’s three castles; take the elevator up for panoramic views. (Other castles: Montebello & Sasso Corbaro.) Old Town: Enjoy a relaxed walk and a taste of medieval atmosphere. Schwyz – the origin of the German name ‘Schweiz’ and the English ‘Switzerland’; the Swiss flag’s white cross also traces back to the canton’s emblem. Stoos – a charming alpine plateau resort, famous for its distinctive ‘barrel’ funicular. Stoos steep funicular (optional): Opened in 2017 and among the steepest funiculars in the world (~47.7°). Ride to the car-free village and the 360° viewpoint over lakes and alpine peaks. Lindt Home of Chocolate (Kilchberg) – a modern, immersive chocolate experience. Chocolate Museum: Features one of the world’s tallest free-standing chocolate fountains, interactive exhibits and a chocolate-making workshop (advance booking required). Arrive Zurich in the early evening. The driver-guide will see you off at the designated drop-off point. End of tour.
