In the morning, our driver-guide will meet you at the pre-arranged time and location to begin the journey. Naples – famous for its rich history, arts and a legendary food scene. Sansevero Chapel: renowned for the sculpture “Veiled Christ”, where an exquisitely carved marble veil appears almost transparent. Santa Chiara Monastery: known for the colourful Majolica-tiled cloister and serene garden with orange trees—full of Mediterranean charm. Castel dell’Ovo: an ancient seaside fortress on a rocky islet. Legend says a magical egg hidden by the poet Virgil protects the city; enjoying stunning views of the Bay of Naples and Mt. Vesuvius from the walls. Galleria Umberto I: a magnificent 19th-century glass-roof shopping arcade with elegant interiors and mosaic floors—great for shopping and dining. Mt. Vesuvius – Europe’s only active volcano, famed for its destructive eruptions. Hike up to the crater viewpoint: see the crater up close and sulfur steam; from the summit, enjoy panoramic views over Naples, Capri and the Pompeii area. Pompeii Archaeological Site – an open-air history textbook revealing everyday Roman life from 2,000 years ago. House of the Vettii: a remarkably preserved wealthy merchant’s home with exquisite frescoes and a colonnaded courtyard. Amphitheatre: one of the oldest Roman amphitheaters, built about a century earlier than Rome’s Colosseum. Public Baths: explore the Roman bathing culture—frigidarium, tepidarium and caldarium—some facilities remain well preserved. Temple of Apollo & Forum: the political, religious and commercial centre, surrounded by key public buildings—feel the heart of Roman city planning.
Day 2: Sorrento → Capri Island → Blue Grotto → Sorrento (45 km)
Sorrento – perched on dramatic tuff cliffs overlooking the Bay of Naples, an ideal base for Capri and the Amalfi Coast. Capri Island – a famed retreat for Roman emperors, artists and the wealthy, celebrated for sapphire- blue waters and luxury villas. Sorrento Ferry Pier: take an optional ferry to Capri (about 40 minutes). Blue Grotto: take an optional small boat (about 15 minutes) to this must-see sea cave, famous for its dreamlike glowing blue water—often called the “Mediterranean Sapphire”. Anacapri Chairlift: optional open single-seat chairlift to Mt. Solaro, the island’s highest point—an immersive ride with magnificent 360-degree coastal views.
Day 3: Sorrento → Amalfi Coast → Positano → Amalfi Town (65 km)
Amalfi Coast – one of the world’s most beautiful coastlines and a “must-visit in a lifetime”; known for dramatic cliffs, colorful towns and rich history. Positano – the jewel of the Amalfi Coast, often called one of the most romantic towns on the Mediterranean, famous for its vertical landscape and pastel houses. Amalfi Town – once an independent Maritime Republic, now a charming seaside resort with a strong historic atmosphere. Cathedral of Saint Andrew: the most iconic church on the coast, blending Romanesque, Byzantine, Gothic and Baroque elements. Cloister of Paradise: a peaceful Arab-Norman style cloister beside the cathedral, with elegant arches and a tranquil garden. Museum of Paper: founded in 1969 on the site of one of Europe’s oldest paper mills (dating back to the 13th century), showcasing the traditional Amalfi paper-making process. Seafront stroll: walk the promenade, enjoy coastal views, sample local snacks and coffee, and soak up the romance of Southern Italy.
Day 4: Amalfi Coast → Caserta → Tivoli (Villa d’Este) → Rome (310 km)
Caserta – built by order of King Charles VII of the Bourbon dynasty to rival Versailles and Spain’s Royal Palace of Madrid. Royal Palace of Caserta: one of Europe’s largest 18th-century palaces, designed by Luigi Vanvitelli—over 1,200 rooms, 24 grand halls, 1,742 windows and about 47,000 m² of floor area, with lavish Baroque and Neoclassical decoration. Tivoli – Villa d’Este (“Hundred Fountains”): famed for its gardens with 500+ spectacular fountains and waterfalls; a UNESCO World Heritage Site (inscribed 2001) and a filming location of Bruce Lee’s classic movie. Avenue of the Hundred Fountains: lined with hundreds of small fountains and sculptures featuring eagles, lilies and boat motifs—showcasing remarkable engineering and artistry. Oval Fountain: a masterpiece of late Renaissance water-garden design, mimicking natural landscapes with cascades flowing into a giant semi-oval basin for a dramatic visual impact. Dragon Fountain: four dragon sculptures spouting powerful jets, built to commemorate Pope Gregory XIII’s visit (whose coat of arms features a dragon). Neptune Fountain: restored and enhanced in the 20th century; the Organ Fountain creates a roaring waterfall—an impressive fusion of art and engineering. Arrive in Rome in the early evening; the driver will drop you off at the pre-arranged location. Tour ends.
