Itinerary

Day 1: Oslo → Eidfjord → Voss (350 km)

In the morning, our driver-guide will meet you at the pre-arranged time and location to begin the journey. Eidfjord – a sparkling jewel of the Hardangerfjord, famed for pristine natural scenery. Vøringsfossen Waterfall new walkway: one of Norway’s most spectacular waterfalls (182 m). Walk the award-winning stepped bridge spanning the gorge for breathtaking views. Norwegian Nature Centre: interactive exhibitions on nature and climate, plus one of Europe’s largest panoramic screens showcasing fjords, mountains and waterfalls. Voss – known for thrilling outdoor activities, stunning mountain-lake scenery and rich local culture. Voss Gondola: an 8-minute ride to 820 m altitude with sweeping views. Summer offers paragliding/skydiving; winter is a ski haven. Voss Church: a medieval stone church built in 1277, a key cultural landmark.

Day 2: Voss → Bergen → Fjord Cruise: Mostraumen (102 km)

Bergen – the ‘Gateway to the Fjords’, celebrated for colourful wooden houses and a historic harbour. Mostraumen Fjord Cruise (seasonal, typically May–Sep, ~3 hours): sail through Osterfjord and narrow Mostraumen strait with dramatic mountain scenery. Bryggen Wharf (UNESCO): iconic wooden hanseatic buildings along the harbour—wander through narrow alleys with boutiques, studios and cafés. Fish Market: Bergen’s lively food hub—sample fresh Norwegian seafood such as salmon and king crab.

Day 3: Bergen → Norheimsund → (Car Ferry ~20 min) → Odda (140 km)

Mount Fløyen: One of the ‘Seven Mountains’ surrounding Bergen city center, at 400 meters above sea level. Take the funicular to the top for sweeping views over Bergen, the harbor, distant fjords and the surrounding islands. Fløibanen Funicular: Operating since 1918, it is one of Norway’s most famous funicular railways. Along the route you may spot charming Norwegian troll sculptures. In about 6 minutes, reach the summit viewpoint (around 320 meters) with a restaurant where you can enjoy local food. Norheimsund – a wonderful base for fjord nature and coastal culture, often praised as one of Norway’s prettiest spots. Steinsdalsfossen: a 46 m waterfall where a path lets you walk behind the cascade without getting soaked. Spildegarden Farm: a family-run orchard known for apple juice/cider, jams and its famous apple cake. Odda – a key hub for exploring western Norway’s dramatic landscapes and hikes such as Trolltunga. Trolltunga (viewpoint recommendation): one of Norway’s most iconic rock formations, towering about 700 m above the lake. The full hike is very challenging; photo viewpoints are recommended if you are not hiking.

Day 4: Odda → Rjukan → Heddal → Drammen → Oslo (350 km)

Rjukan – known for WWII history, a UNESCO industrial heritage site, and its unique ‘sun mirror’ project. Krossobanen Cable Car (note): built in 1928; it has been out of service since 2021. Norwegian Industrial Workers Museum: linked to the famous WWII heavy-water sabotage; part of the UNESCO-listed industrial heritage area. Sun Mirror: a giant mirror installation that reflects winter sunlight in the town centre (best around midday in winter months). Heddal – an important stop en route to Oslo, home to Norway’s largest stave church. Heddal Stave Church: built in the 13th century; Norway’s largest wooden church with remarkable medieval interior artefacts and traditional timber craftsmanship. Drammen – a modern riverside city combining contemporary design, history and outdoor viewpoints. Drammen Spiral Tunnel: drive six loops inside a spiral tunnel to reach the mountain viewpoint (200 m) overlooking the town. Ypsilon Bridge: a striking cable-stayed bridge (opened 2008) named after the Greek letter ‘Y’, an award-winning design landmark. Arrive Oslo in the evening. Your driver-guide will drop you off at the pre-arranged location. End of service.
